In this workshop we will focus on the transitions between poses in the Ashtanga Vinyasa system. Ashtanga yoga is often hallmarked by the way practitioners float in and out of postures. The connection of the rhythm of the breath with the rhythm of the movements turns the practice into moving meditation. To maintain the connection between the mind, breath and movement, how we move between postures becomes as important as the postures themselves. There is a different transition out of each pose depending on whether you finish standing, seated or lying on your back. Brian will teach techniques for mastering the elusive jump backs from seated and standing poses, jumping forward from downdog to uttanasana and chakrasana from supine positions.
