“Breathe into your low back” is not just a catchy phrase. In this class plan to explore the very real relationship between your diaphragm, a muscle whose main job is to assist your respiration, and your psoas, a muscle that connects your upper body to your lower body, is happy to play host to a range of stored emotion, and is often a culprit of low back pain. We will explore the connection that the psoas has to the diaphragm and how the two function when in relationship. Expect to weave uddiyana bandha kriya into the asana practice and feel from experience how accessing your diaphragmatic muscle can leave you feeling not only centered but allow your low back to feel open and spacious.
